Educational Development in Thailand: The Role of World Bank Lending

Operations evaluation in the World Bank aims to provide a systematic, comprehensive and independent review of the Bank's development experience. The report evaluates the experience with educational development in Thailand and assesses the cumulative impact of Bank projects on development in the sector. Over the period 1966 to date the Bank has supported educational development in Thailand through six education projects with total estimated cost of just under half a billion dollars equivalent. It was agreed that the study should look particularly at secondary and vocational education within the broad context of the Bank's overall educational lending program in Thailand.
