Environmental Labeling in the United States Background Research, Issues, and Recommendations

The report provides a review of environmental labeling programs in various countries and a discussion of California state law Proposition 65. Also discussed is the effectiveness of existing labeling programs in the U.S., such as food nutrition labeling, automobile fuel economy labeling and drug and chemical labeling. Analysis and recommendations are given for a U.S. environmental labeling program.
