The Old City Dump One site is listed on the National Priorities List. The 10- to 12-acre site accepted industrial and municipal wastes from 1938 until 1966. Incinerator burning occurred on site. The environmental contamination on-site consists of lead, chromium, polychlorinated biphenyls, acids, bases, and organic solvents. The site is considered to be a potential public health concern because of the risk to human health caused by the possibility of exposure to hazardous substances via contaminated groundwater, surface water, soil, sediment, and air.
