Principles and Solutions of the New System Building Technology (TAT)

The TAT-building system is aimed to work as a basis in the development of new generation of industrialized building technology in Finland. Original title 'TAT' means the product development of apartment and office buildings. As English title 'TAT' could be understood as 'Totally Adaptable Technology'. The building system is defined as a hierarchical, modulated system containing functional and spacial systems, a structural system, systems for ventilation, water supply, electricity, information technology and waste management as well as the connecting dimensioning and tolerance systems. There are five hierarchical levels in the systems: levels of building, subbuilding, module, component and basic element. Guidelines for design, production, service, and product and method development are defined.
