Instrumentation, Field Operations, and Data Processing for PMEL (Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory) Deep Ocean Bottom Pressure Measurements

The focus of the report is on the collection and processing of deep-ocean bottom pressure measurements made using the Paroscientific Model 410K-017 digiquartz pressure transducer. The observational program was initiated in 1986 for the purpose of collecting high quality data during the generation, propagation, and coastal runup stages of a tsunamigenic event. Because of its diversity and flexibility, the bottom pressure recorder is also an important tool in many other areas of oceanic research, particularly when coupled with other instrumentation.
