Building a Job Service for the Year 2000: Innovative State Practices

The report analyzes innovative State practices in four general areas: improving the job match process, developing applicant job seeking skills, recruiting workers in a labor-short economy through service availability, and improving the efficiency of public employment and training programs through a cooperative service delivery system. A number of examples are given for each area to illustrate the variety of possibilities for improved service delivery and to highlight 'best practices' which are particularly effective.
