Propagation Problem and Far-Field Patterns in a Stratified Finite Depth Ocean

The paper investigates the direct, or propagation, problem associated with the scattering of a 'plane wave' off of a submerged body. It assumes that the body is contained in an ocean of finite, constant depth. The index of refraction is assumed to be dependent only on the depth.
