摘要

Shift work within the nursing profession is examined. The authors first address the prevalence of shift work in nursing, its patterns, and the evidence for dissatisfaction with shift work. Next, the consequences of shift work are discussed, such as family and social issues, health problems, and work performance. Conclusions and recommendations are provided.
