Electrical Performance Tests for Hand-Held Digital Multimeters

Electrical performance test procedures for battery-powered, hand-held digital multimeters were developed for the purpose of evaluating samples submitted by electronic instrument manufacturers in response to specifications issued by the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command. The detailed, step-by-step test procedures are based on the Army specifications and include sample data sheets and tables for the recording of interim data and final test results. The report discusses the measurement principles and techniques underlying each of the procedures. In addition, the sources of measurement uncertainty are discussed.
