The purpose of the report is to summarize the existing knowledge concerning the distribution and relative abundance of select species of finfish and shellfish along the coasts of the United States. The species selected for review include those of commercial, recreational, and ecological importance. Discussions of the species' apparent distribution and relative abundance, apparent historical trends in distribution and abundance patterns, and gaps in existing information are presented for each species. Maps are also included that depict the species' adult distributions along the coasts of the United States.
