摘要

The Alzheimers Association, formerly known as the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association (ADRDA), has 188 chapters and affiliates located in 27 States. In order to estimate the capacity of this organization to provide information and referral (I & R) or case management, a questionnaire was developed and ten chapters were surveyed by telephone. The sample was selected for diversity in chapter size, urban/rural, sophistication, and professional/volunteer staff. The section reports the findings of that survey. Most questions were open ended. This is a small, selective sample with open ended questions; great caution must be used in generalizing to other chapters. The report was prepared as a background paper for the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment report. Methods of Locating and Arranging Health and Long Term Care Services for Persons with Dementia.
