Presowing Irradiation of Plant Seeds. Second Revised and Enlarged Edition

摘要

The book reviews published data and presents results of studies conducted by the authors on the presowing gamma-ray irradiation of seeds of agricultural crops. The authors describe the theoretical basis of the stimulatory effect of small irradiation doses and the mechanism of their action. It has been shown that it is possible to raise the yield of agricultural crops, accelerate ripening and improve the quality of raw material obtained from irradiated seeds. The book includes results of field experiments and production trials as well as results obtained in the first year (1973) of introduction of presowing irradiation.
