There is general agreement that ecological cumulative impacts (also known as cumulative effects) are a serious environmental challenge, but there is also some confusion as to what these impacts are and how to deal with them. The 145-paper, annotated bibliography reflects the status of ecological cumulative impacts assessment in the United States and Canada after ten years of development.
