摘要

The fatigue properties of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) were been investigated. The results are presented in forms of mean stress versus log (cycles) (S-N-data). The influence of different wave types (sinusoidal, triangular, rectangular) and different R-values, on uPVC's fatigue properties has been studied. Rectangular waveforms decrease the fatigue life compared with sinusoidal and triangular wave forms. The temperature rise in the test specimen due to internal heating was studied in terms of different test frequencies. To avoid thermal softening no more than 5 Hz should be used during fatigue testing of polymers, if the test specimen is used according to ISO R527.
