Research Analysis of Local Factors for Implementation of Stream Protection Strategy

The study examines two stream systems in northeastern Illinois, Mill Creek/North Mill Creek in Lake County and Butterfield Creek in Cook County. These stream systems contain a range of stream conditions and land use patterns, as well as a variety of local government land use and resource management systems. The report identifies and evaluates the factors which could influence the application of a model stream and wetland protection ordinance previously developed by the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission.
