摘要

The New York City Transit Authority studied the noise reduction effectiveness of various resilient rail fasteners for steel elevated structures. The study included field and laboratory tests, and limited theoretical modeling to identify and optimize those characteristics which are most effective in reducing noise, while meeting criteria for rail stability. Top plate bending resonance in the 500-700 Hz frequency range may be a significant factor in reducing the vibration isolation effectiveness of resilient rail fasteners. The standing wave elastomer resonance (thickness mode) of resilient fasteners does not appear to be significant to wayside noise reduction at 500 Hz or lower frequencies for the type of fasteners considered.
