The Motorola, Inc. Biopolar Integrated Circuits Center (the Center) is located in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona. Semiconductors have been manufactured at the Center since 1966. In Spring 1983, trichloroethene and several other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were detected in water from Supply Well No. 2 at the Center. The site is considered to be of no public health concern because of the absence of exposure to hazardous substances at concentrations of concern for adverse health effects.
