摘要

The report contains a description of presently used criteria for determination of the sensitivity of infrared sensors. The kinds of noise which determine the sensitivity of apparatus with single element detectors are described. New kinds of noise, introduced when using multi-element detectors are analyzed, particularly with respect to staring arrays. A method for describing the performance of the arrays is suggested.
