The workshop provided an excellent opportunity for water resources managers, aquatic biologists, mosquito control personnel, and other people who are interested in the management of aquatic weeds and mosquitoes to share important new technology. It was designed to enhance the capabilities of professionals working in the subject area and to improve communication and expertise on how to manage these pests. The purposes of the workshop were: to provide an overview of the association of aquatic plants and mosquito production; to provide information on the best management practices for aquatic weeds and mosquitoes in impoundments; and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on the management and impact of these aquatic pests.
