Phase-Only Holographic Filters and Their Applications

A software has been developed to perform the computer simulation of optical pattern recognition using phase-only and conventional matched filters. The filters are fabricated using the technique of Computer Generated Hologram based on Lohmann's method. When phase-only filter is used in an optical correlator, correlation-like response that has a considerably higher peak intensity than the conventional matched filter is obtained.
