Archaeological Survey at the Downsville Boat Landing in Dunn County, Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources conducted an archaeological surveyat the Downsville boat landing on the Red Cedar River, in Dun County, Wisconsin. The purpose of the survey was to determine if construction to improve the current facility is likely to have an impact on significant archaeological remains. Fieldwork involved shovel testing, together with surface reconnaissance. The deposits in the project area were found to consist of modern river sediments and roadbed fill. The survey produced no artifacts or evidence of archaeological features.
