Clean-up of Industrial Wastes Under Federal Regulations

The report presents an overview of activity to clean up waste-contaminated industrial sites within the United States. The findings are based on review of literature (regulations, legislation, and commentary) and discussions with workers in the field. Issues relating to procedures and decision-making on the cleanup requirements under Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act are discussed. An approach to dealing with management of contaminated sites are suggested.
