摘要

A workshop was held to review and provide recommendations on methods for assuringreliability of tubular ceramics in applications such as radiant heaters and heat exchangers; and standardization of dimensions for ceramic tubes and specifications on tolerances for those dimensions. The major issue inhibiting the reliable application of ceramic tubes are short term failures due largely to the presence of large, strength limiting defects in the as-fabricated materials. Workshop participants identified the need for a database on properties, availability, application conditions, and component failure. The workshop program and attendance list are included.
