摘要

Data on the distribution and abundance of 19 species of raptors are presented in the combined reports. Studies on the Sheridan-Decker area and on the Eagle Research Area emphasized long-term reproductive performance of golden eagles, while the much larger Campbell-Converse Counties study area emphasized the distribution and abundance of all resident raptor species. Each paper emphasizes golden eagles by presenting detailed information on reproduction and nesting habitat use. This information is unique for several reasons. The population survey work for golden eagles presented in these reports is probably the most intensive (in terms of effort) ever conducted over such a large land area (15,417 sq km). Comparable long-term data (7-11 years) on eagle reproduction are not available elsewhere except for the Birds of Prey Natural Area in southwestern Idaho.
