Integrated Dynamic Model of a Flexible Wind Turbine

The report describes the work on an Integrated Dynamic Model for flexible wind turbines. The different models of the sub systems are coupled into one Integrated Dynamic Model that is implemented as simulation code in the DUWECS program. The DUWECS program is developed in such a manner that it has become a user friendly and easy to handle tool for the study of the dynamic features of wind turbine systems. The DUWECS program runs on computers working under the MS-DOS operating system. The possibilities of the developed DUWECS program are illustrated by various simulations of the wind turbine system under various conditions. The interaction effects on the overall behavior are shown, confirming the importance of an Integrated Dynamic Model. For a more detailed analysis of rotor blade loads the most detailed modeling techniques will be required.
