GIS Proving Grounds for Water Resources Research

摘要

Spatial decision support systems (SDSS) are analytical systems used to addressmanagement problems that are ill-defined and that have data domains or solution spaces that have a spatial dimension. Spatial data domains are popularly managed by the emerging technology of geographical information systems (GIS). The purpose of the research is to demonstrate how the thoughtful integration of GIS and expert systems technologies can result in an SDSS that is useful in managing land and water resources. A central feature of the research is the use of modern systems prototyping tools to facilitate the rapid and efficient development of the SDSS.
