Diesel Fuel was effectively and consistently separated from water utilizingAluminum Sulfate and an Anionic Organic Polymer followed by a benchscale Krofta Sandfloat simulation. The final laboratory data suggested that the diesel fuel could be rapidly removed to below the clarified target value of 10 ppm using the dissolved air flotation process. The post DAF sand filtration step removed virtually all of the diesel fuel residuals that remained in the solution after the DAF simulation. The Oil and Grease concentration obtained after the final filtration step was below the detection limit of U.S. EPA Method number 413.1. No post ground absorbent treatments would be required to meet the overall project objectives.
