Mathematical Descriptions of the Mechanical Properties of Skeletal Muscle: A Review.

The paper presents a review of the mechanical properties of skeletal muscle. A mathematical description of skeletal muscle is introduced and this may be incorporated into a model of the human musculoskeletal system. The main sections of the report discuss muscle structure, muscle architecture, and neural control of muscle actions.
