Estimates of Ground-Water Flow Components for Lyman Lake, Apache County, Arizona

The purpose of the investigation was to define quantitatively the interaction between surface water and ground water in a short reach of the Little Colorado River that includes Lyman Lake and Salado Springs. The report describes the hydrology of the study area and presents a conceptual model of the flow system that was used for the water budgets. The water-budget data and associated errors are presented and evaluated relative to the estimated quantity of ground-water flow to and from Lyman Lake. Chemical and isotope data were collected and an independent calculation of the water budget is presented for the Lyman Lake and Salado Springs area.
