Final Case Study for the National Scenic Byways Study: A Case Study of the Environmental Impact of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

摘要

The purpose of this study is to identify the environmental impacts of the Blue Ridge Parkway to assist the Federal Highway Administration in preparing recommendations to Congress on the current status and future development of a national system of scenic highways. The research methodologies utilized in this study include an extensive literature search, numerous telephone and personal interviews with government agency officials and representatives of organizations with an interest in the Blue Ridge Parkway, and site visits to the National Park Service in Atlanta, Georgia and Asheville, North Carolina.
