Guide to Promoting Government Excellence through Special Uses of Awards: Citations of Special Uses and Program Contacts

The report is to encourage federal managers, supervisors and personnel officials to tailor incentive awards systems to best achieve their agency's particular mission. The Federal Incentive Awards Program provides managers with a wide variety of means of tapping the creativity of employees and motivating them to excell. Under the broad flexibilities available in the Incentive Awards Act, specialized incentive awards programs can be developed within agencies to institutionalize more rapidly new initiatives important to the agency and its management.
