Experimental Practices: Case Histories

摘要

Experimental practices are a means of developing and demonstrating the effectiveness and feasibility of new mining and reclamation practices or providing innovative postmining land use alternatives. Seventeen experimental practices have been approved to date and are described in the report. The general categories of the approved experimental practices include the use of alternative sediment control techniques, disposal of excess spoil, improvement of wildlife habitat, development of postmining land uses, demonstration of regarding alternatives, and direct planting of slurry ponds.
