摘要

The project demonstrated a model of collaboration between a public university, public and voluntary agencies, and a gerontological center to address a serious shortage of minority administrators and leaders in the field of aging. This model was designed to enhance professional recruitment and retention of minorities in aging; to provide credentials for career mobility for minorities through professional social work education with specialized content in aging, management and minority issues; and to strengthen community services to the aged. The components were (1) selection and training of two groups of minority workers, (2) seminars, (3) a mentoring system, and (4) continuity between training and employment.
