The bibliography was prepared in conjunction with the NIH Technology Assessment Conference Bovine Somatotropin held in Bethesda, Maryland on December 5-7, 1990. Areas covered are the use and effect of rBST in dairy cattle, the production of recombinant bovine somatotropin, and the implications for human health. The bibliography also contains background material on milk and human nutrition, control of milk quality and safety, regulation of growth and lactation in cows and humans, and the composition of human and cow's milk. The background material contains citations to items published prior to 1985. A citation may appear in more than one section.
