TrafficNoiseCAD: True Interactive Graphics for Traffic Noise Analysis and Design

TrafficNoiseCAD is the interfacing of STAMINA 2.0 file creation and AutoCAD graphical capabilities. STAMINA 2.0 is the Federal Highway Administration computer model for predicting traffic noise levels. By creating conversion programs, the developers of TrafficNoiseCAD have made it possible to have a STAMINA 2.0 data file represented in AutoCAD graphics and then any changes made graphically result in the appropriate alternation of the STAMINA file. Points for roadways, barriers, and receivers maybe initially input using a digitizer and reading elevations from contour maps. Graphical changes may then be made using a specially designed set of commands. Also included is an editor, STMED, that places the data in screen forms and allows entering of traffic data, alpha and shielding factors, and alteration of any part of the STAMINA data file. TrafficNoiseCAD represents a major change in the noise prediction and barrier design process from a static nature to an interactive graphical editing environment.
