摘要

A cultural resource inventory was conducted along an approximately six mile longsegment of Forest Highway 20, Sierra Madre Mountains, northern Routt County, Colorado. One prehistoric and eight historic sites were recorded; three of the historic sites had been previously recorded (5RT210, 5RT431 and 5RT438). One prehistoric and seven historic isolated artifacts were also located. The aboriginal site (5RT650) consists of a very sparse distribution of buried lithics. The prehistoric isolate consisted of a flake. The historic sites include the Master Key Mine historic mine complex (5RT210), the Summit Creek U.S.F.S. Ranger/Guard station (5RT431), the Columbine Townsite (5RT438), the Minnie D. Mine and associated habitation ruins (5RT658), the Sarah Lode Adit (5RT659), and an historic telephone line (5RT681). Historic themes represented include Mining, Farming and Ranching and Transportation. Five historic sites (5RT210, 5RT431, 5RT438, 5RT653, and 5RT658) are recommended eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
