C2 Interpolation Subdivision Scheme for Curves

A one parameter, 4-point interpolatory subdivision scheme is considered in whichat each recursion step two points are inserted between two old ones. Sharp conditions are derived for the free parameter for which the curve is guaranteed to be C(sup 2). The algorithm proposed here, is very suitable for Hermite interpolation.
