Finite volume discretizations are presented of the convection-diffusion equationin general coordinates in two dimensions. The diffusion coefficient is piecewise continuous. The coordinate system is assumed to result from a piecewise bilinear boundary-fitted mapping of a physical domain on a rectangle. It is shown how to discretize such that the discretization is (approximately) exact for constant and linear functions, despite the irregularity of the equations in general coordinates.
