Phase 1 Archaeological Survey of a Proposed Habitat and Pond Development at theShiawassee National Wildlife Refuge, Spaulding Township, Saginaw County, Michigan

Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge proposed to construct non-game bird habitatand pond on 20 acres near the Refuge headquarters in Saginaw County, Michigan. The Refuge contracted for an inventory archeological survey with special concern for a reported early historic site 20SA391. Shovel testing at 10 meter intervals produced no evidence of either historic or prehistoric cultural materials. Site 20SA391 might be located on privately owned land in the SE/4 of Section 26.
