Profile of Child Care Settings: Early Education and Care in 1990. Volume 2

摘要

The sample of early education and care providers interviewed in the telephonesurvey is a nationally-representative sample drawn from the universe of formal early education and care programs. The sample frame for the Profile of Child Care Settings (PCS) surveys is composed of the following types of providers: All child care centers and early education programs that are licensed by state or county child care licensing organizations; Unlicensed church-based programs and part-day preschool programs located in states where those programs are not required to be licensed; Public-school-based early education programs that are not licensed by state child care licensing agencies; Regulated home-based child care providers, including home-based group day care providers where they are defined and regulated as a separate category of provider.
