The publication presents information on fatal traffic crashes and fatalities inthe United States based on the Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS) data file for 1989. Similar information, from 1982 through 1988, is included for comparison purposes where appropriate. Data for 1988 has been updated and may not agree exactly with the data that appeared in the earlier version of the FARS Annual Report.
