Health Assessments are also prepared for non-NPL sites in response to requestsfrom States and individuals. In the report, the presence and nature of health hazards at the site are assessed, and the public health implications specific to this site are evaluated. The Health Assessment is based on such factors as the nature, concentration, toxicity, and extent of contamination at the site; the existence of potential pathways for the human exposure; the size and nature of the community likely to be exposed; and any other information available to potential risks to public health.
