Derivados de Molibdenoceno e Tungstenoceno com Isonitrilos e Alquilos (Derivatives of Molybdenocene and Tungstenocene with Isocyanides and Alkyls)

The synthesis and chemical reactions of molybdenocene and tungstenocene derivatives with isocyanates and alkyls are reported. The preparation of (MCp2(X)CNR)(+) where M=Mo, W; X=H, Cl,Br, I; R=Me, Et, t-Bu and (MoCp2(CNMe)2)(2+) is described. X-ray structural and spectroscopic studies of (WCp2(X)CNR)(+) species indicate that the metal-isocyanate bonds have sigma character. The synthesis of MCp2(CNR) where M=Mo,W and R=Me, Et, or t-Bu is presented. The compounds show extensive metal-isocyanate back bonding. Their reactions with electrophiles give (MCp2(E)CNR)(+) where E=H, Me, Et, n-Bu, or AuPPh3. The synthesis of MoCp2(X)Me where X=Cl, Br, O2CPh, n-Bu, or H and (MoCp2(H)L)(+) where L=CH2PPh3 or C2H4 is described. Studies examing the H(alpha) elimination reaction, attempts to synthesize MoCp2=CH2, and the reactivity of MoCp2(H)I are discussed.
