摘要

The effect of solute-solvent interactions on vibrational spectra (IR) of dimethyldichloro silane, dimethyl napthoxy silane and dimethyl quinoxy silane, in a number of solvents have been obtained. The spectral vibrational frequency shifts observed in different solvents have been correlated with refractive indices and dielectric constants of the solvents. The results obtained were applied to the Buckingham's modification of Bauer-Magat formula for solute-solvent interactions. Generally, IR spectral frequencies in solution result in shifts to lower wavenumber than those of observed in the gas phase. However, solution in chloroform for Dimethyl dichloro silane resulted in a shift to higher wavenumber, which is due to specific interactions.
