Getting and Spending: Household Economy in Rural Burundi

The report presents the results of a survey of Burundi household economy. Theprincipal objective of the urban research was to determine salient urban income-earning strategies and the extent of economic linkages between rural and urban sectors. The primary purpose of the rural survey was to determine the structure and performance of the rural economy. Because rural households comprise most of Burundi's population, these data can be used for formulating policies appropriate for rural development.
