Synthesis of Some New Benzoxazepine Diones as Potential Therapeutic Agents

The present work describes the synthesis of seven new N-substituted 4,1-Benzoxazepine-2,5-(1h 3H)-diones. The starting material was prepared by the condensation of anthranilic acid with chloracetyl chloride. The The seven new 4,1-Benzoxazepine-2,5-(1H,3H)-diones were prepared by alkylation of the starting material with the corresponding alkyl halide, in DMF as solvent and sodium hydride as base. The purification of these compounds was done by PTLC and column chromatogrpahy. The structure elucidation was carried out by the spectroscopic techniques i.e. U.V, IR, N.M.R and M.S.
