The Hallade Track Recorder and Hints on the Maintenance of Curves

The Hallade Instrument and the charts produced by it are now a definite factor in the supervision of track maintenance and the rectification of track faults. Any falling-off in the smoothness of the running of the track can be easily detected, as also can any improvements and alterations. By the use of one Instrument throughout the system a uniform standard of maintenance is aimed at, and on lengths of track which fall below this standard the charts issued to Gangers and Inspectors are\nmarked to indicate the various faults.
