Winch and Cylinder Transportation and Handling Equipment

Projects BB 610-E, Winch Transportation and Handling, and BB 620-E, Cylinder Transportation and Handling, were so intimately related that the work on the projects was closely integrate. The initial investigation was begun by the Army Air Corps when the Chief of the Army Air Corps was charged with the responsibility for development of barrage balloon equipment. Three trailers were developed and submitted to the using service, but they were not entirely satisfactory.
