Flight tests were made to determine maximum lift and corresponding angles of attack, drag, and stability of an observation airplane equipped with Maxwell leading-edge wing slots. Various modifications were made in an effort to increase the increment of maximum lift resulting from the Maxwell slots. Results show that these slots reduced maximum lift greatly by aggravating the center-section stall. Static and dynamic longitudinal and lateral stability was generally satisfactory and was little affected by the slots.
