摘要

Whether the ear suffers more fatigue at any particular frequency region has never adequately been determined. This paper examines fatigue at 7 frequencies from 256 through 8192 cps, at a variety of intensities. At medium to weak levels, all frequencies fatigue equally. At louder levels, proportionately more fatigue occurs at higher frequencies. The differential effect is much greater if the frequencies to be compared are made equally loud than if they are made of equal intensity above threshold. This is true even though greater intensities are needed to reach threshold at the higher frequencies.
